Abstract
Abstract games, or games of logic are regarded as the "purest" of all games. Typically they involve no luck or at most element of chance is minimal. Although they may have a theme, it is incidental to the contest. The best abstract game can be thought of as a series of interesting logic puzzles. The game consists of each player presenting a logic puzzle to other player's. The best players of such games find the most difficult puzzles to present to their opponents. A good abstract game allows an inexhaustible supply of interesting puzzles to be discovered in the possible positions of its board. It's equally important that the puzzles must be discoverable and to some degree solvable by the other players. They may be simple or complex in design. While presentation can enhance appeal, for us the main consideration should always be its playability and enduring challenge.
