The Rubik's cube was invented by Erno Rubik in 1974, reaching worldwide fame by the 80's. The cube has its place in history as one of the most successful puzzles of all time, keeping company with such greats as tangrams, pentominos, soma cubes, and crossword puzzles.

Rubik's cubes are still very popular today, with annual contests to determine who can solve the puzzle in the shortest time (currently 11.13 seconds).

Not ones to rest on their laurels, Rubik's have produced several new puzzles with the same fiendish simplicity and build quality, such as the Rubik's 360 and the Rubik's Twist.
